James Sallis praised Lust Lizardsaying that Moore’s novel provides “[like] all the best comic writing, something beyond jokes, caricature, spinning plates and crazy-tilt towers, something intangible that vanishes whenever we try to look directly at it: Complete nonsense, this is a quick read, which leaves the reader as soon as the last page has been turned.


Am I too old for this humor to make me do more than chuckle quietly and without conviction? I have since moved on to read several other of his books.

Jun 05, Kevin rated it liked it Shelves: Moore is twisted and weird, and you really have to wonder what sort melancohly childhood he had, but I hope lizarr keeps cranking out the books because I have devoured every one of them.

We’ll publish them on our site once we’ve reviewed them. The title alone is worth the price of the book, which could be substituted most successfully for every antidepressant in the pharmacy.

I listened to the audibook and the narrator did a fantastic job, he really made the story come alive. He has a taste for warm blooded animals, so he proceeds into town to snack on the townfolk. His meager investigation consists of collecting Bess’ antidepressants and asking Val Riordan, the town psychiatrist about the pills. In other words, just another day in Christopher Moore’s brain.
