Given this plot line, of course this book is going to be dark. He then realizes that he doesn’t want to waste his life away so he stops. Ted’s drunk-driving accident has ruined his life. The novel is also a great example of these illnesses, and can be read at basically any level above late middle school for more examples of the illnesses or just for a nice book written the flowing words of the author. Nothing spectacular but it was ok. You all should read it!
He even thinks to himself that he could outdrink him, when his roommate looks down on him for not partying like everyone else. After his AA meeting, he goes home, where he meets Michael Eslem. Not recommended for anyone. Not a book I would recommend if your looking for a page turner from the get go.
And Erica really likes Ted, too, she likes him more than she’s ever liked anyone. Though the dramatic influences and struggles and scenes, it is at a typical late middle schooler’s reading level though recommended for high school students so that they may wholly understand it.
Ideally the situation shouldn’t require Ted to do much except look for alarming signs that Erica is relapsing, and in exchange, he’ll be able to attend college after all.
Ted was accepted to an Ivy League school and offered a v Okay, I actually enjoyed it this time! Ccoburn of the Center for Children’s Books. That being said, I did love Ted and Erica’s relationship – the way they talk to and cbourn each other made me smile. Drunken Ted crashed a car and luckily got away with a metal knee, but that metal knee cost him big bucks.
This was an outstanding read. I would say it is suitable for people 13 and up, due to language. Coburn comes up with a good, messy resolution which is true to the characters and their lives.
I found the characters to be somewhat underdeveloped – for the most part, Ted is defined by being alcoholic and Erica by being bulimic, and we don’t know that much more about them. I would recommend this book to anyone jakee likes new experiences.
Love Sick follows the story of Ted, a former teenage alcoholicas he spies on a girl, Erica, at their college for her father. Cobur really enjoyed this novel. The plot was so interesting and unique!

I also did not like this book because the diction was childish. Through a mix of narrative and e-mail correspondence between characters, readers are taken on the emotional roller coaster that is addiction, and does not shy away from controversial issues like alcoholism and bulimia. I mean, in the beginning it was great, normal and slow building. In the beginning, the author talks about how he’d heard about Erica’s and Ted’s story actually happening and how he’d decided to turn it inot a novel, which is crazy – the idea for LoveSick is just so unlikely, something that only happens in books and movies.
This book includes your typical romance book the more you read on and would be pleasurable for a young age. Then a man, with a daughter of bulmia, offers him a chance to go to college that’d be pay for as long as he watches his daughter.
