I appreciated the inclusion of sections focused on other chefs and on the gardens. I smiled my way through this book. An interesting premise, and I certainly envy Blain his delicious eating while researching this book. Lovingly drawn and presenting a very charming niche of the world, I was enamoured of Passard, his food, and Blain’s clear devotion to representing both.


Blain’s art is alqin, and more spacious than it normally is few panel borders, for example and it works well for this book.

The recipes sound delicious but aren’t really something I am interested in trying at home for the most part, but I appreciate the new way I’ve discovered at looking at food in particular, vegetables and just a new way iin seeing in general. Create a new password. The illustrations were pretty lousy, and the author didn’t seem to really go into the thinking behind why Alain Passard was such a popular cook, or how he got to that point.
