The book begins with the basic concepts of logic and belleman theory, to familiarize students with the language of mathematics and how it is interpreted. It was a great way to demonstrate that techniques learned for writing proofs are independent of any area and can be applied anywhere in mathematics.

Great book as Mathematical Thinking books go. In terms of total presented material, this book wouldn’t even cover a single undergrad course in logic and set theory. Post that, book introduced other topics like relations and functions and employs proof techniques for proving theorem in these topics. One day I plan to make it through this book, but for now it has defeated me.
