In “Beyond Happiness”, Bayda asks us to question all the assumptions we make about happiness. A nice book filled with great wisdom and practical suggestions!
However, it is when we learn or re-member to breathe deep, bayad in the present moment, just be, surrender to what is, and face the discomforting situations in our lives that change begins to take place. This is unfortunate as it was the most novel thing about this book.

Bayda’s discussion of forgiveness is effective, though I wish the forgiveness meditation had been written more like a meditation rather than a set of instructions. Ezra is no Thich Nhat Hanh, yet he does provide simple and clear baydaa in his message so that it leads to usefulness in everyday life and relationships and stays interesting.

There’s a lot of value to the author’s ideas of living in the present, and learning to accept what is, rather than focusing on how things should be.
