Sturas is the chief means to final emancipation and not Jnana. It is like Kamadhenu or Kalpataru. It occupies a high rank in books on philosophy. The only source for the knowledge of this Brahman is the Sruti or the Upanishads.
The final salvation lies in realising the true nature of one’s own soul. The majority of the traditional and conservative scholars in India today, called Pandits, are students of Vedanta, and an overwhelming number belong to the lineage of Shankara — five sixths of all Pandits, according to some authorities. Similarly Sm ri ti says, ‘Works are the washing away of uncleanliness, but knowledge is the highest way.

If any Acharya wishes to establish his own cult or sect or school of thought he will have to write a commentary of his own on Brahma Sutras. It treats of the Vedanta philosophy. The first chapter Samanvayadhyaya unifies Brahman, the second Avirodhadhyaya refutes other philosophies, the third Sadhanadhyaya deals with practice Sadhana to attain Brahman and the fourth Phaladhyaya treats of fruits of Self-realisation.
Nimbarkacharya interpreted the Vedanta system from the standpoint of Bhedabheda-Dvaitadvaita. The Vedas, according to Vedanta, consists of two parts, states Deussen, which show “far reaching analogy with the Old and New Testaments”, a Part of Works karma-kanda which includes the benedictory mantrassacrifices and ceremonies like the Old Testament, and a Part of Knowledge jnana-kanda which focuses on metaphysical questions about the world, creator, soul, theology, morals badaraysna virtues like the New Testament.
Thibaut has translated this commentary into English. You identify yourself with the senses and say, ‘I am blind, I am dumb’.
All Acharyas have commented on Brahma Sutras. He never condemned selfless service or Nishkama Karma Yoga. He contains within Himself whatever exists. They need not go by the path of gods or the path of Devayana. I am a Brahmin, I am a Kshatriya, I am a doctor’. Sri Sankara’s commentary is the best commentary. It is easy to remember them. Sutras were meant to assist the memory of the student who had gone through long discussions with his guru, as memory aids or clues and maximum thoughts were compressed in a few words which were unambiguous, giving the essence of the arguments badarayanna the topic.

According to Sri Sankara, there is one Absolute Brahman who is Sat-chit-ananda, who is of an absolutely homogeneous nature. The views of various Acharyas are all true in respect of the particular aspect of Brahman dealt with by them each in his own way. Advaita philosophy is the most sublime and the grandest philosophy of the Hindus.
The second Brahmasutra chapter has been variously interpreted by various monist, theistic and other sub-schools of Vedanta. Vedanta is the end or gist of the Vedas.
They also emphatically declared that Brahman can be known only through bdaarayana scriptures and not through mere reasoning.
