The novel was Klause’s first; it was published on September 1,and was re-issued in with two bonus short stories by Klause. The Silver Kiss was written several years before Twilight and has been successful by its own merits. But he’s after a BAD vampire.
Through the course of the book we discover that the Sutcliff family are undergoing a quiet tragedy as Zoe’s mother is currently in hospital dying from terminal cancer. Now why the heck would you ask the girl you barely know to help you beat this other vampire who made you, killed your mother.

Okay killing someone’s Mama Ain’t cool. By doing this, it really does succeed in being a memorable, poignant tale. Not all of them have to be evil, but the compulsion to kill is an ingrained part of their nature. A wish that things could be different.
