There’s also quite a bit of Spanish—not that I fault alouc of the poets for writing it—however if, like me, you don’t understand the language at all, you’ll be skimming over sections of poems and feeling lost. It’s a gem in my poetry collection! Some of the muyorican are mystifying when seen presented on the page, but if you’re trying to “understand” every poem in this book, you are going about it wrong.
